In results based magic, the result is treated as the most important part of the magical working. It signifies that the magic has worked and that the outcome has been achieved. And there really isn’t a magical practice that doesn’t have some type of result. Even a devotional practice still has a result attached to it: a closer relationship with a spirit.
Yet, I think one of the mistakes many occultists make is that they prioritize the result itself, as opposed to the function of the result. The result, in a magical working, has a specific function. It signifies that the magic has worked AND it points the way toward where your magical practice may go next.
A result is never an isolated incident. It is interwoven into your life and necessarily brings with it consequences and impacts that shape your experience of life. An ill-considered result can impact your life in ways that can be detrimental in both the long and short run, which is why the outcome is important, but what happens after is even more important.
In this article, I want to share with you how we approach results as part of the overall magical process and what can happen when you change how you work with results.
